After the success of the first SOUND! – Scott Faris and I started working on the second in the series. 

One of the lessons we learned from the last performance is that I needed a better computer. As well as an integral way to couple the sounds of the orchestra with what is being projected on the screen. 

We completely went back to the drawing board. I’ve always been enamored with synesthesia – that is the blending of senses that some people are blessed with. Examples are seeing taste, seeing colors with sound, and visual representations of time.

It’s a fascinating phenomenon that as a multi-media artist, I’ve wanted to experience. So it was obvious to be to use Touchdesigner to program an audio-reactive event. 

After heartbreaking work, we accomplished exactly that. Under Scott’s direction, I was able to deliver 13 unique visualizations projected on a 300 sq ft screen to another sold-out show. 

The energy was ecstatic and I will never forget the moments of triumph uniquely shared with my mentor and collaborators.
